Hello Classmates!!!

And here it is.... our FINISHED POWERPOINT!!!!

Awesome job, everyone!!!!! :)

I created this wikispace so that we can collaborate a bit more effectively. We can post stuff in the discussion board without clogging our emails. It will be easier to see everything people are adding to as well.

Hopefully you all like this format!! :)

Post all comments under the DISCUSSION tab!!! I created pseduo-"groups", just look for your main heading:
Foundations (Ch 1, 2, 3)
Planning (Ch 4, 5, 6, 7)
Organizing (Ch 8, 9, 10, 11)
Leading (Ch 12, 13, 14)
Controlling (Ch 17)
Issues/Challenges (everyone should contribute)
Recommendations/Conclusions (everyone should contribute)

This has a lot of valuable info and can help with streamlining the processes we choose: http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/007338142x/student_view0/chapter1/

Download this PPT, type up your slides, when you save it, change the name of the file from "your ppt" to "(YOUR NAME) ppt" and send back to me when you have typed up your slides. This way I will know what is what and who is who and putting everything together will go smoothly.

This is is the updated version of the PPT with the slides I had thus far. Please take a look and let me know if any changes need to be made!!! Please be aware of the yellow "post it" notes throughout, we need to know who is presenting the recommendations, and issues section!

Let me know!!! :)

The Course Objectives are:

- To familiarize you with the conceptual and practical issues involved in the management of individuals and groups.
- To build an understanding of the challenges and issues related to organizational behavior.
- To develop a conceptual framework and build the diagnostic skills for understanding how management processes affect organizational behavior.
- To build verbal and written skills in communication, analysis and problem solving.
- To understand specific challenges facing management in a diverse and global economy.

The purpose of the final assignment is for you to "strut your stuff" as it relates to your understanding and application of this course's concepts and learning. Therefore, the final assignment, which I discussed with you last night in class, is...

For you, as a class, to develop and deliver ONE integrated presentation that:

- Identifies and explains the management processes that I used throughout this course

- Identifies the challenges and issues related to our specific class

- Analyzes and presents how those processes affected you individually, in teams and in the class as whole

- Provides recommendations on what you would have done differently

Each of the 19 students presents for 5 minutes (no more/no less) ....for a total presentation time of 100 minutes (allows 5 minutes for "presenter transition time")

Please note that this is to be ONE, integrated presentation that includes all of your thoughtful identifications, explanations, analyses and recommendations...it should not be 19 different topics that get covered "across the top" but rather the major topics covered "in detail". "Show me the beef" (sorry for the analogy, Angela).

In addition to the delivery of the presentation, the other specific deliverables are:
- ONE PPT presentation to be emailed to me no later than 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 6
- A hard copy delivered to me at the beginning of class on May 6.

If you have any questions, please ask me and copy the entire class so I can respond back to the class.

The grading for this assignment will be based on two factors:
- 2/3 of the individual’s grade for this assignment (which is 20% of the individual’s final grade) will be based on the instructor’s grade for the team- 1/3 of the individual’s grade for this assignment (which is 20% of the individual’s final grade) will be based on your class members’ feedback on your individual contribution to the class assignment
Thank you,

Dr. Patti
